Michigan Blood Collection is focused on gathering specimens for researchers around the world for in vitro research through its IRB protocols and processes ensure patient protection and confidentiality. “In vitro” means these research tools are used only in pre-clinical testing or testing done in a dish or tube.

Current Priority Collections and Research Targets Include:

• Normal Blood Samples
  • This means blood samples not being actively treated for an uncured disease
  • This is the donation of a full unit of blood
  • The time for this donation is paid at $50

• Cancer-State Blood Samples
  • All cancer types and states are of interest
  • High priority for breast and lung cancer in particular
    
• Disease-State Blood Samples
  • Most diseases are of interest
  • High priority for neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease
  • High priority for autoimmune disorders like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Lupus

Disease-state blood samples are restricted to a 40ml donation, a $25 gift card is provided for your time.
